Today, 1 April, is the first day of Wandsworth’s year as The Mayor of London’s Borough of Culture 2025.

Young musicians and performers from Wandsworth schools and the Wandsworth Music Academy marked the start of London Borough of Culture this week during a spectacular event at the Royal Albert Hall.

Today, April 1, is the first day of Wandsworth’s year as The Mayor of London’s Borough of Culture 2025.  

An impressive 5,000 tonnes of extra recycling has been collected in less than a year thanks to residents’ hard work and Wandsworth Council’s Cleaner Borough Plan, equivalent to 400 double-decker buses.

More than 120 female entrepreneurs from Wandsworth went along to be inspired at the 11th Women’s Enterprise Day in Battersea earlier this week.
